Twentieth century was the century of intelligence. In that century we considered those people, who possessed high I.Q. were intelligent but we had found so many examples from the society that those who possessed high I.Q.they might be failed in their real life. It means it is not guarrantee that a person with high intellect can be always successful. In the word of Kothari Commission. Today's education system can not satisfy the present needs of the students and it should be changed from the world of school to the world of work and life". The present education system does not give any guarantee for a successful life. So, in the present study the investigator has tried to find Emotional Intelligence of higher secondary school students. The investigator has also tried to find the effect of are, academic stream and gender on Emotional Intelligence into the present study.
