Starts slow, but worth it

I just finished this.. I just lovedt this book. At first I wasn’t certain as it seems very cold and overly technical, as it’s written in the form of a journal of a woman who is foremost a scholar who is working on her book on the Folk, or Fey as the general term. I am glad I didn’t give up. The way she changes as the story slowly unfolds. So much happens and so many wonderful characters. So many smaller stories woven into our main one and so well done without overwhelming me as a reader or making it tangled and tedious. And Wendell! I adore this man. So much more than you think of him at first. Though I do hope to see some of the minor characters in future books. I must say though… little Poe.. loved this charming and adorable. This is definitely one of those times I’m highly thankful to know there are more books and I don’t have to wait for them to come out. Love this books so much. Just know if wanting to read this, it’s not a quick cozy read. It’s more of a DONT BOTHER ME IM READING.. book. Where you throw things at people for bothering you. Arc read

Blew me away

The last few chapters kept managing to up the ante and I couldn’t put it down!

A little shallow.

I have friends who absolutely love this book and series. The characters were flat to me, but that might be a me problem.
