Email services for small organisations: Case study: Caritas Mozambique

The habit of communicating began a long time ago, at a time when man could neither write nor read. To communicate man used among other ways drawing, drumming and speech. Drumming could be used for example in situations where communication involved two villages or short distances, conveying a message of danger or calling for a meeting. In the meantime, man evolved and started using writing on paper as a tool for people to communicate. In this case, taking advantage of a person who is travelling, it is possible to write a letter to a relative who lives far away from us. Then came various ways of transporting these letters, such as car, aeroplane, etc. which reduced the time the letter (or message) takes to reach its destination. With the advent of Information Technology the process of communication using messages has changed the history of mankind. The Internet is the major technology that provides a set of facilities for communication between people, and one of the facilities is communication via messages. This paper identifies problems in the management of e-mail services at Caritas Mo ambicana and proposes a model for e-mail management.
