The "Emmanuel Movement" for medially-supervised religious psychotherapy was an outgrowth, between 1906 and 1929, of a clinic founded by the Rev. Dr. Elwood Worcester (1862-1940), with the assistance of the Rev. Dr. Samuel McComb (1864-1938), at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Boston.
