Out of print book

It was okay considering it was written in 1977 but I guess I should have read this book before I read Jerry Schillings, Joe E's and Linda Thompson's, it would have saved me a lot of time. I didn't find it as sensational as people said it was but it was certainly down and dirty. Doesn't put Elvis in a very good light at all. I found it to be a bit whiny at time's and immature but that's just my opinion. If you're an Elvis fan, you should read this but read it first. Before any other books.

Nothing New!

I'm a HUGE Elvis fan. I've read 30+ books on Elvis Presley and to be perfectly honest, it really was nothing New. I found it s good book and Red and Sonny West, also talked about the good times and things Elvis did.

It’s a good read.

I found this book to be a tell all about the 3 men who told their stories. Elvis did not read this book like the guys had hoped. It’s informational on each of their accounts with Elvis. Unfortunately, Red gets some of his information wrong on the birth of Elvis and Jessie. Both Red & Sonny are on a YouTube short video saying they made this book out of anger towards Elvis.

Sonny West: Elvis' ONLY true friend

This book is a must read and I only wish Elvis would have listened to Sonny's advice. I met Mr. West during Elvis Week this year and he is a classy gentleman. He was sweet, humble and he still loves Elvis. The Bible says in John 15:13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Sonny West was one of the only real, true friends Elvis EVER had.

Elvis What Happened

This book was a good read. these guys say they wrote this book to help Elvis I am not so sure about that, because a lot of the stories in this book are very hurtful for not only Elvis but his family as well. the book is a good read because it really lets us see just how bad the drug use had gotten.I do think a lot of this maybe true but at the same time it seems it was written to get back at Elvis for letting them go after so many years. the book takes us inside the world of Elvis in those last drug filled days. it is a sad book but shows you just how bad drugs can take you down. any Elvis fan would find the book interesting.

Good book

I thought it was a good book. I read a lot of bad reviews so I never bought the book for a long while. I'm glad I finally bought/read it. The author really didn't depict him as being a monster just a human being. I don't understand what all the hype was about. It probably was a little dramatized even. I loved it and couldn't put it down.

elvis , good and bad

i think the book is a great book, it tells the soft side of elvis , and the hard side, it tells the side that people wanna know , but dont really wanna hear, it is really straight and u can tell how honest it is , i think it is a great book, and most if it is not really bad , about 90 percent is all good....

The King Indeed

I found this book totally captivating!!I read it in two days, loved every word...I was only eight when he died, but I recently visited Gracelandand became fascinated by his life.. and death.Thumbs up for the guys who wrote it... they definately had someinteresting insight to the king's life!!
