Book Overview

ELVENBLOOD (Halfblood Chronicles, Book Two) -- Revised & Illustrated

The saga accelerates. The long-awaited final volume of the Halfblood Chronicles is coming--and this monthly launch is an event. GRAB Book 2 now to ride the momentum all the way to the epic finale.

The world that began trembling in Elvenbane now erupts into rebellion. The ruthless Elvenlords still rule through overwhelming magic, and even Shana--the legendary half-blood born to break their chains--finds her powers slipping. With only a rag-tag alliance of half-blood wizards, escaped human slaves, and rebellious dragons behind her, the resistance remains mostly symbolic.

But hope flickers in the desert shadows--with the Iron People, a hidden human tribe who have evaded Elven domination for centuries. As tensions within Elven society near breaking point, Shana's encounter with this ancient tribe may unlock the secret of liberation... or trigger the destruction of everything she's fought for.

Why keep going:

The stakes rise: The uprising begins to move from desperation to strategy.
New allies, deeper secrets: The Iron People arrive, dragons stir, old powers awaken.
Shana's inner conflict: When your weapons weaken and your enemies prepare, what do you fight *for*?
Revised, illustrated edition: Freshly updated for new readers, richly enhanced for longtime fans.

The journey isn't over--it's evolving. For those who started the saga, Book 2 delivers the rising tide. For new readers, it's your moment to jump in before the crescendo builds in spectacular fashion.

A Fun Adventure!

I thought, that when I bought this one, that I had read it before and simply misplaced my copy - but while parts did seem a little familiar, I am fairly certain that the familiarity is more from Mercedes Lackey's writing style. I certainly did not remember any of this and it was a fun, adventurous fantasy novel that I enjoyed more than the re-reading of the first book. I'm excited to read the next one and I hope the one written after that is actually published soon!

What a book!

I thought this book would be like all the other fantasy books I've read, but I was totally wrong. I couldn't set it down. I diffinately reccommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy!

A great book!

I thought this book was extremely good. The characters seemed alive, and the plot was very entertaining. I couldn't put it down! The authors did a good job of building upon the previous book, but I'd have liked to read more about the dragons. Hopefully they weren't left out of the book on purpose! I can't wait for the third book to come out, I hope it's soon! If you've read the first book, you have to read this one!

An intense fantasy that does not leave out the darkside

A superb next installment in the Halfblood Chronicles. The authors ingeniously lead the readers through both bitter and sweet moments in the lives of the characters. Acknowledging that only a realm showing both bad and good can truly be fully developed, I was glad to see another side of the elven world. This is a truly complete and fascinating realm to dive into.

Excellent

The way the book was put together and the plot was amazing, treachery of the noble dragon? The Characters all were very interesting people which is to be expected by these two writers. The fact that the powerful wizards were to be captured by seemingly savages was an interesting twist to the plot. The only downside was how one of the characters (an oppressed elven girl) was so extremely depressing as to make you want the character to killed, But she EVENTUALLY gets better. (Thank GOD)
