Elon Musk is one of the most consequential and visionary personalities of the twenty-first century, and his very name is synonymous with disruption, drive, and forward momentum. Musk realized the internet may play a significant role in changing the future in the late 1990s. Online payment service X.com, which he helped create, evolved into the ubiquitous PayPal. With this new system, sending and receiving digital currency is safer and more convenient than ever before. When eBay bought PayPal in 2002 for $1.5 billion, Musk became a multimillionaire, further fuelling his drive to change the world for the better. Elon Musk used his newfound fortune and his determination to shake up entrenched sectors and focused on two of them: space travel and renewable energy. He established SpaceX in 2002 with the goal of making interplanetary travel more affordable and so paving the way for human settlement of other planets, most notably Mars. Musk's bold idea was to make people capable of living on more than one planet.
