Ellie The Eagle: Flight of Truth

By: Rekve, Jordan L.

Ellie the Eagle: Flight of Truth is a beautifully illustrated Cree-English picture book that blends language, culture, and the Seven Sacred Teachings. When Ellie, proud of her sharp sight, is caught in a storm that hides the world from her eyes, her confidence begins to fade. But with the gentle guidance of Orin the Owl, she discovers that truth comes from within - and that she can see with more than her eyes.

Designed for children ages 4-8, this bilingual story introduces early learners to Cree vocabulary and pronunciation, making it a meaningful resource for families, classrooms, and Indigenous language programs. Ellie's journey through fear and courage guides children to trust their hearts, even when the path is unclear. This uplifting book supports language revitalization, emotional development, and positive cultural representation for all children.
