When Elizabeth's parents pull her away from her student life at the convent to marry a man that her father picked out she is determined to get away.As she rides through the woods looking for a village were she can stay, she comes upon a strange little man who tells that he can help her escape by sending her into the future.Though he doesn't know how far her will send her or if he will be able to pull her back without harming her, Elizabeth decides that she to try it.Elizabeth finds herself in the modern day. She is taken in by a kind vet who feeds her and in return, she shows him the herbal remedies for animals she was taught growing up.Elizabeth's adventures continue when she is taken to boarding school. She finds herself thrown into yet another strange world where her only friend is her teacher and her roommate dislikes her. After a while, Elizabeth is able to befriend her roommate and she makes the most of it. The tentative friendship lasts until a boy named Daniel comes along.Later, Elizabeth, Katy and Daniel are swept back into time where they find themselves running from soldiers sent by her father to find her. When Katy is captured, she discovers that the man Elizabeth was being forced to marry wasn't so bad after all.
