Elinka's World explores the experiences of childhood and how a small child interprets them. The narrator observes her parents, grandmothers, playmates, as well as ants, frogs, a funeral, and other events. Readers may recall their own experiences in similar situations as they, too, wondered what ant families do at night or how Grandma used her ear to play the piano.The verses of Elinka's World remind us that, although we share many similar experiences, each human being is unique.
