Elijah-The prophet of fire: Elijah

By Joyce Ajebon-Dagadu

Elijah, Prophet of Fire - A Novel for Young Readers He walked out of the wilderness, stood before the most powerful king of his day, and announced that the rain would stop. One man. No army, no allies, no title - only the word of the living God and a faith stubborn enough to make the sky obey. Elijah, Prophet of Fire retells the life of the boldest prophet of the Old Testament as a vivid, fast-moving novel written especially for young teens. From the ravens that fed him at the brook, to the widow's jar that would not run empty, to the fire that fell on Mount Carmel before a watching nation, to the still small voice on the mountain and the chariot of fire that carried him home - every scene is brought to life with the pace and emotion of a story you can't put down. And every word of it is true. Each quotation is taken directly from the King James Version of the Holy Bible, and the narrative follows the biblical account faithfully from 1 Kings 17 through 2 Kings 2. This is not Scripture rewritten - it is Scripture brought to life, written to send readers back to the source with new eyes.
