Eleven Diverse Pieces for Organ

This volume includes eleven pieces suitable for recital, teaching or church use. They range in duration from 11/2 to 41/2 minutes and in difficulty from sight-readable to challenging.

Looks Like Rain was composed by Chak Man Andrew Yip for string trio. It has been adapted for organ for this edition.

Three Celebratory Toccatas, composed in the centuries-long tradition as playful and flamboyant demonstrations of performance agility, can serve variously as striking overture, bold interlude or exuberant recessional.

Presage and Anachronous Fugue are melodramatic impressions of texts from John Donne's Meditation XVII and Charles Baudelaire's Danse Macabre, respectively.

Four Friendly Pieces were compiled for four fellow organists, first performed in a 2007 recital by the composer.

Lastly, is a transcription of Handel's "Entrance of the Quees of Sheba" with optional pedal. This new transcription retains the lightness and lilt of Handel's original.

All pieces can be played with satisfying effect on a typical 2-manual church organ, but scale well to larger organs for enhanced drama and dynamism.
