A book that will renew your love and appreciation for the natural world.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how it brought a new perspective to our natural world. With poetic language and storytelling, mixed with scientific exploration and discovery, I found myself seeing the land in my backyard with new eyes. I will likely reread this book again, and I have recommended it to everyone I know (including my geologist dad because microbes living in stone deep in the earth blew my mind). I highly recommend this book for those who find themselves most at home in the woods or strolling through the dessert or on the water. The bit about plastics helped me gain a deeper understanding of pollution and its impacts as well.
