Early one morning, close to Christmas 2018, young Sarah Evans' head is found in the middle of a busy San Francisco street. The city wakes up in horror, and the police find the rest of the body at the victim's house: naked, kneeling, with her arms strapped to the wall. Inspector William Parker, specialized in serial killers, has been away from his position for some time now, retired from the force after a particularly traumatic case. But Lieutenant Watson is convinced only he can help her unravel the mystery behind this macabre death.
