When ric Reinhardt's wife announced ten years ago that she had breast cancer, the news was devastating for him. On top of the operation, the painful treatments, and taking care of two small children, the writer felt unable to protect her in her state of immense vulnerability. However, she proposed a deal: he would finish his novel as soon as possible, and she would beat cancer. The author wrote feverishly and each night, he read his wife passages of his book. Finally, the novel was published, and his wife recovered.

Inspired by this experience, Reinhardt gives us the story of Nicolas, a 40-year-old composer whose sick wife urges him to finish a symphony with which they will win the battle together.
