Eight P.R.I.O.R.I.T.Y. Principles to Increase Academic Achievement

Have you ever found yourself in any of these situations? You have been put in an environment where it appeared that the odds were stacked against you or you knew the odds were stacked against you? You would characterize your organization as toxic? Your organization has been defined by narratives of the media or other outside entities? You have been told that your school or organization was a failure and you needed to be placed on a focused or P.R.I.O.R.I.T.Y. plan to improve your effectiveness? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, know that help exists in the form of eight P.R.I.O.R.I.T.Y. principles that will help change your mindset and instantly improve your organization's effectiveness. As a former school principal that has encountered these situations, I can assure you that it is possible to overcome these challenges and help improve student achievement. As you explore these eight P.R.I.O.R.I.T.Y. principles, I request that you keep these questions in the forefront of your mind. What elements prevent you from achieving increased academic achievement in your school or district? What are you doing to address these concerns? How are you monitoring these concerns? My name is Dr. Ramon Johnson. I have over 25 years of experience in public education. I have been a teacher, an assistant principal, principal, and adjunct professor. If one might think that the education is not a political business, then you are fooling yourself. Each year in every state, there are debates about how much to fund public education. The budget for public education is the largest percentage of that state's budget. Therefore, other services and agencies are always trying to find ways to shrink the education budget and therefore tend to criticize the work that the educators do to educate the students that they serve. The state's department of education and the federal department of education come up with accountability measures to determine what district or school is meeting acceptable standards. Public school educators don't mind being held accountable; however, they want the process to be fair and the funding to be equitable to the population that they serve. Therefore, constant pressure is always being put on the classroom teacher to do more with less. According to some research, 50 % of new teachers entering the profession will leave the profession within five years. With these staggering statistics there will always be a teacher shortage unless something is done to restore the respect for educators and the profession, adequately compensate educators, and show educators how to have balanced professional and personal lives, and how to share their own narrative about the great work that is happening in each school and district. Therefore, it is time to put a focus and P.R.I.O.R.I.T.Y. on increasing academic achievement and respecting the education profession. The marketing strategy from this book will be designed for district leaders and classroom teachers. A variety of different media will be used to marketing the book such as social media, professional conferences, district meetings, and celebrity endorsements. Teachers don't need anything else to be put on their plates without removing some items. This book is designed to take what you already have in your district or school and create frameworks and processes for your organization to be focused on the right work. The teachers will have professional development that is laser focused and will yield the results that it is looking to achieve. From the onset, I will admit that if you are currently in need of this book, that it may seem overwhelming to add one more thing to a plate that is already burdened. However, I ask that you approach these principles with a belief that helping you is my number one P.R.I.O.R.I.T.Y.
