Eight Chorale-Settings for Organ

This volume includes eight chorale-settings and two short devotional pieces.

Three Passion Preludes were inspired by specific Scripture:

- Bicinium on the Passion Chorale O Sacred Head, from the mocking torment described in Matthew 27:29-30

- Canticle on O Lamm Gottes unschuldig, from the wondrous depiction of elders singing before the Lamb in Revelation 5:8-9

- Pr lude- tude on The King's Majesty, from the assuring yet fearsome prophesy of Isaiah 59:19-20

Three Variations on Ton-y-Botel (Ebenezer) are pastoral, whimsical and melodramatic, respectively.

Prelude on Aberystwyth has two versions.

Prayer and Adagietto serve as reverential interludes during worship.

All can be played with satisfying effect on a typical 2-manual church organ, but are scalable to larger organs enhancing intrinsic drama and dynamism.
