Egon Schiele - The Garden Studio

Egon Schiele (1890-1918), who is recognized as one of Austria's most important painters and one of the great masters of Expressionism, is known for his intense and often erotic paintings. In 1911, at the age of 21, Schiele set up a studio in a garden house in the small town of Krumau, Southern Bohemia. It was there that Schiele rediscovered and reshaped his artistic vision and work. This book is about his time and work at the garden house studio, and includes Schiele's reminiscences, photographs and personal letters. These come from the collection of the author, and many have not been seen before. The artist died of Spanish influenza when he was 28, but his paintings, drawings, poetry, writings and sculptures live on.
