Income inequality is shown to be on the increase and can be linked to the growing dimension of food insecurity. Inequality affects individuals purchasing power and consequently, well-being. The study further revealed that a small reduction in income inequality, even in the absence of growth, can lead to substantial reduction in food security problems.
