Good decision

The product arrived on time and as I expected for what I paid. I am really pleased.

Great text for educators, full of practical advice and research

Slavin's 9th edition is updated with recent educational psychology research and interesting practical applications for the research in the classroom. This text provides a broad range of educational research and synthesizes it for specific understanding in conceptual areas such as motivation, direct instruction, cognitive development and so on. Slavin goes through great effort to also interconnect the information between chapters and illuminates how the information relates to the teaching/teacher standards.

A Well-Written Psychology book

Educational psychology was the 4th psychology course I have taken. Slavin's text was the most interesting and well-written psychology texts that I have used to far. It makes the theories interesting to read and is also full of information that is very pertinent to the classroom. The book is very current for the modern classroom. We didn't finish the entire text in the summer course that I used it for, but I'm still planning on reading the entire book.

A great book, even when one's required to buy it

I had to buy this book for one of my university's special education credential classes, but the book's a definite keeper. I find that I learned more about what I need to know to do my job from this one textbook than from all my other textbooks combined. At least that's what it seems like most days!

Excellent Reference On Current Teaching Challenges

This was a text book for my now completed first education class, "The Diverse Classroom". We did not have to read the entire book, just Chapters 2, 3, 4, and 12, so I base my review on those chapers. This book is rich in detail on the challenges faced in contemporary classrooms. It is well written, and has very complete and thorough references. In addition to raising awareness of key issues, it provides many practical suggestions for application. The other text book for the class was "Introduction to the Foundations of American Education" by James A. Johnson, et al. That book was not as good by comparison; it was much too preachy.
