Vegas In Education is a book which tells a colorful story in regards to a variety of leadership skills. Even though the plot has many educational references, it can be utilized for the corporate world by managers. This short book can be read, enjoyed and understood by everyone - young or old alike. In this parable, it depicts several characters with various goals and ambitions. When someone is content, life is good for all, but when one desires more, only those who possess the drive to venture forth and establish new goals are able to continue enjoying the good life. In this simple depiction, the main character Vegas underscores the need to remain vigilant for impending changes in the environment around him and searches for contentment within his current day to day life. Vegas In Education is meant to encourage everyone to be better rather than settling. Throughout the book it gives subtle countless examples of leadership qualities, and characters used as analogies for staying status quo and how it doesn't lead you to new knowledge. Rather than focusing on moving from bad to good or horrible to average, readers should be encouraged to conduct an honest assessment of what you're doing and what you could be doing. You might then desire something more fulfilling. If it takes just as much unfocused discipline to obtain more, then why not use focused discipline to do just that? It seems like a simple equation that many will spend their lifetimes not solving, following in mediocrity and perhaps personal disappointment. Many waste a lot of time, energy, and thinking on improving from an ok status to slightly better than average, while giving only minimal forethought to what is the one thing we could excel. This is ultimately the question the book tries to assist with: is it better to spend a lifetime being average at a lot of things if you could perhaps accomplish so much more? Vegas In Education simply attempts to challenge you to know and pursue your purpose.
