North Texas was having a drought that was so bad the crops in the fields had died. The ponds were drying up and the animals didn't have enough to drink. The grass in the pastures turned brown and make a noise when you walked on it. Edgar loved all the animals that lived on the Shy Donkey Farm. He loved on them each day and talked to them like they were human. The brace's on his legs wouldn't let him ride a bike but he could ride a horse or donkey. His dogs and cats followed him everywhere he went. Edgar had a dream and the following morning he got dressed and went out to the animals. He went to each animal and whispered something in their ears. The farm animals began to spread the message he had given them and soon all the animals in Texas were spreading the message. A few days later, his Nana woke the boy up to tell him that something terrible was about to happen. He ran outside and smiled as he looked into the sky. The faith of Egdar and his animals saved the farm.
