Many students of economics are taught in schools the mainstream economic myths: "You didn't create that " "Without government, the economic system would fail." "Markets are inherently unfair and doomed to fail." This text gives students that will listen, and they are few, the Remnant not yet co-opted, a different story. This story is about individuals, their self-interests, and their voluntary interactions and exchanges with each other. The chaos of all serving each other by serving themselves is the market. Unhampered and left alone by government, the market creates the freest, wealthiest and most moral society. Government, the chief looter in an economy, has a role, limited and minimal, but an essential one: leave us alone until someone violates the rights of another. Protect property, guard against foreign invaders and ensure contracts are obeyed and fulfilled.
