Calpurnius Siculus: Eclogues

A reissue of Keene's work, which remains the basic study in English of the Eclogues ascribed to Calpurnius. Keene established seven of the poems as being of Neronian date, with four others seen as later, and ascribed by Keene to Nemesianus. A modern edition would surely contain an introduction focusing much more on the current scholarly interest in Neronian literature and propaganda' Until one such is published, this more basic text will have to do. Latin text, English commentary and notes.
