ECHOES OF THE ASYLUM
By Paul Iddon
"Explore the forgotten. Awaken the damned."
For twenty-five-year-old urban explorers Liam and Chloe, danger is part of the thrill. Their YouTube channel, Urbex Knights, has taken them through crumbling factories, derelict schools, and silent churches long forgotten by time. But when a wave of fan suggestions points them to Blackwood Asylum-a psychiatric hospital abandoned under grim and mysterious circumstances-they decide to push their luck a little further.
From the moment they step inside, something feels wrong. The air is too still. The silence too loud. The building has a pulse, and it's watching them.
Strange sounds echo in empty corridors. Their equipment malfunctions. Their footage captures things they didn't see at the time-flickering shadows, twisted figures, and glimpses of something that should not be there.
What started as content for clicks spirals into a waking nightmare. Reality fractures. Memories distort. And something ancient and angry begins to claw its way into their world.
The past doesn't want to be forgotten.
And Blackwood doesn't let anyone leave unchanged.
