The closest thing to physically moving your hand

In my work writing training material, I have found that one of the most difficult tasks is how to represent a series of mouse actions where the screen appearance alters after each action. It is not quite so difficult when the audience consists of experienced mouse jockeys, but is very hard when the readership is inexperienced. The manner in which that problem is addressed in this book is the most impressive thing about it. Using a series of numbered icons with captions and pointers to the location on a screen shot, you are gently led through the series of proper actions. The sequence of actions is also repeated in text form underneath the diagrams, and the item to be acted on is named. On the bottom of each two page set there is an introduction caption on the left and tip and hint captions on the right. While this text is well written and helpful, I found the choice of colors to be an occasional problem. At times, two shades of orange were used as background for white text and there is not a great deal of contrast between them, which made it difficult to read. However, I had no trouble reading the black on green, black on yellow and white on purple. If your needs are to learn the basics of FrontPage in a hurry, then this book is for you. With it, even a beginner can have simple pages designed and active in an hour or two.

Excellent Condition

This was the first time I have ever purchased a used book. I couldn't believe what great condition it was in. It looks like a brand new book to me. I would recommend purchases this way to anyone. The price was low and the quality high. Perfect. I'd do again in a heart beat.

SO EASY!

I am desperate to learn all the computer programs out there, so I buy tons of "how to" books. Some help, some are not so good. This is THE BEST how to book ever! It is so easy. I just sat at my computer and flipped through. I figured it out in about 2 hours! I do have knowledge of Microsoft's other programs, though. So if you know Word or Excel, you'll get this one really quickly.

Superb, unbeatable, perfect.

For the beginner, this is it! This is what a tutorial should be like. I cann't praise it warmly enough. Every step is illustrated so that no one, not even a novice, should get confused or frustrated. I am ordering two other publications of the same series, hoping they are just as good.

Excellent beginners guide with plenty of illustrations!

The sheer range of features in professional web development packages like Microsoft FrontPage can be daunting to would-be webmasters. The manual that comes with the software is slim, and the majority of documentation consists of online help. What's a fellow to do?Easy Microsoft FrontPage 2000 is the solution. Its aimed at absolute beginners, right through to casual part time web developers. Unlike most books (even the Dummies series), this book is packed full of illustrations right from Microsoft FrontPage 2000. Each page includes full color screenshots (many pages include up to three or four). This makes learning easy - no more deciphering cryptic commands and trying to see what they mean on the screen. This book is the simplest, most accessible book on FrontPage 2000 that you will ever read. It contains step-by-step guides, accompanied by excellent screenshots and diagrams. Each page also includes little tips, which help to give you advice about extra features, and different techniques. I'm very impressed with the quality, and ease-of-use of this title. For those learning web development, this is the ultimate guide to FrontPage 2000!
