The purpose of this book was designing, fabrication and testing of a fruit pulp extracting unit to transform indigenous varieties of fruits into pulp to enhance profit margins in orchard farming and to minimize post-harvest losses.

It was needed to be cost effective and easily indigenously manufactured. Its ease of operation and high efficiency were also the main concerns in its designing. Shear and centrifugal squeezing force exerted through blades with incorporated teeth was the operating principle of this machine.
