Part II is a continuation of book I, which follows the protagonist in her first year of college, thousands of miles away from home, at public commuter university in New York City. It picks up where the first book left off, where the reader finds out what happens after she returns from winter break back in her hometown and after receiving a rather unpleasant surprise during the holidays. Part II sees her continuing to navigate college life, while dealing with this very real situation which has the ability to change the course of her future forever, as well as the joys and demands of being a student athlete, deciding if the career path she chose is the most realistic one at the time in addition to having more social relations and unstructured time than she's ever had. At some point, it should be wondered, if not by the protagonist herself, but by the reader, if this character is truly ready to tackle these issues in a mature way or is it too much too soon?
