EARTH-SPUN
Planet Earth. We love her. We treasure her. We hurt her. We take her for granted.
This book of poems and images is an homage to the many ways Earth forms us, thrills us, frightens us, and provides analogies for our emotions.
The poems show different aspects of how our environment shapes us. They range from the birth of Earth to the death of Earth and include, among others, a nightmare in space, the pull of Stonehenge, a shipwreck, the beauty of nature, a survival experiment, the response of people to animals, the joy of a child's imagination, and the human expression of self-examination, curiosity, jealousy, love, and fear.
This collection is the poet's endeavor to bring that which is often unnoticed background into focus in all its beauty and force.
