For Landa, life has been wonderfully normal for a while. Even things like bopping back and forth to her different work sites and Elizara's tonsillectomy don't make too big a bite in her life as things are calm, she has her support systems in place. A few things happen that cause problems, but the Rune Witch is able to handle them with ease. Even when a new magick user enters her life and requires training to use his magick rightfully and well, life still goes on with only a few hitches that the whole family works together to get through.Then the magick user finds an incredibly powerful magickal object, which begins to work on his mind, slowly twisting it, manipulating the man to make wishes - he gets 5 - and things start to go wrong. The Being in the object wishes for freedom and power, the new magick user wishes, at first, for good things, but then the Being in the object is able to alter his mind enough that things go bad. Loved ones are killed, a horrible war is started to allow the Being to be freed.Landa must battle a fearsome foe though it causes her more grief than she's ever known in her life thus far. And though she wins the war and gains more than she thought she'd get after winning, it will cost her more than she's ever been willing to give.
