Excellent resouce

I just got this book and found this book extremely useful in laying out the process to obtain a teaching credential. I highly recomend this book to anyone wanting a credential. The extra resouces in the book were worht the price alone.

I Love this Book! If you're thinking of becoming an elementary school teacher in California, get it

This book is great! The first half tells you all about what types of California teaching credentials there are, and how to get a multiple subject credential. It gives a clear explanation of the different types of credentialing programs, how to choose a program, and how to fulfill the prerequisites. I found this book to be pretty easy to read. I wish I'd have had it before I started because the list of credentialing colleges and universities tells you what types of programs every college and university has. I already spent hours trying to find some of this information for myself and it wasn't easy. I loved reading the "top 10" lists for student teachers even though I'm not student teaching yet. Also, it's really interesting to look through the school district section, which tells you the low, average, and high salaries and websites for EVERY elementary school district in California. There are other books that you might want to get if you're trying to decide whether a teaching career is right for you, but I haven't found a book (or even a website) that is so full of specific information about exactly how to become a teacher in California. Definitely worth the money. (A nice bonus is that the official website for the book gives you the exam calendars and lets you download the checklists so you don't have to photocopy the book).
