Early pregnancy in adolescence, its psycho-pedagogical implications

Early pregnancy in adolescence is a social problem that is a cause of great concern for parents and guardians, teachers and adolescents themselves. It is well known that adolescence is a stage of life characterised by numerous problems and conflicts. It is during this period that many physiological, psychological, emotional and even social changes occur. Throughout this phase, new desires, doubts, challenges, curiosities and discoveries arise. Among these contradictions that adolescents will experience, the discovery of their own bodies and sexual pleasure stands out. This is often shared with a partner, resulting in serious risks that can lead to unwanted pregnancy. Given the frequency of such cases, which we have been observing with great concern in our school, where many adolescents become pregnant at an early age, as teachers and educators, we have embarked on a study with the aim of identifying the possible causes and then explaining the psychological, educational and social implications that this has for this age group. Finally, we suggest some measures to prevent its frequency.
