Well-Researched Book

Even though it's not as thorough as Machado's early childhood language art's book, Jalongo does a fine job integrating classic language literacy theory (i.e. Frank Smith) into the world emergent literacy for the Birth to Age 8 set. The chapter on listening is unbelievably informative!
