DUNE DRAGONS and the FAIRIES of the LAKE, the second in the DUNE DRAGONS series, continues the adventures of the dragons, Chryllis, Jilly, and Zuzu, and the plucky Native American girl, Alitta. In book two, Zuzu shows off with dragon breath while competing in a cherry pit-spitting contest, expelling a molten pit. Only later does she realize that the fiery projectile pierced a fairy's wing. The fairy is unable to fly, and with winter fast approaching, the Dras and company decide they must transport her south to a warmer climate where she might better heal. This sets them all on one of the most fantastic voyages of all time-a journey that takes them from Lake Michigan's magnificent Sleeping Bear Dunes to the fabled mound city of Cahokia on the Midwestern plains, where they help vanquish the Two-Face monsters of ancient lore, to the heart of the tropics.
