Join me on an epic tale that starts in India, but goes around the world. In the process of going to many magnificent places on our planet Earth; that same adventure has also led me to many profound inquires that is still leading me towards Self awareness. On the day that Pope Jan Pawel II died, I watched in awe as two rivalry football "clubs" came together in the main square of Krakow, hung off statues, sang each others songs, tied scarfs together and enjoyed a moment of peace, instead of the usual daily bloodshed and death. I walked down the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu as the sunlight parted the mountains and cast a glow on the ancient stone city. A week earlier in the Amazon of Peru, I almost died by getting eaten by carnivorous Bullet ants. I received my first black belt in Hap Ki Do in South Korea without being able to speak a word of the language. I was punched in the stomach by Chinese military who thought I was a Buddhist monk trying to sneak into Tibet, in the midst of a national crisis. I was in Mexico when Presidente Calderon legalized drugs in an effort to gain momentum in an up-hill, losing battle, "War on Drugs." The same 'war' that caused many ruthless acts of violence, like when I witnessed a man being lit on fire. True Story. I comforted students in my classroom in Jeddah as they cried tears of tribute to the late King Abdullah, may peace be upon him. I scaled the ancient pyramids of Giza by myself, while the country was burning from Civil War. I dove with Great White Sharks in South Africa and drank beer with grown men as they told stories of Apartheid and wiped away their patriotic tears in Cape Town on the day that Madiba died. I felt my heart get ripped out of my chest, when I was made into a "persona non grata," being blacklisted from South Africa for five years, thus ending numerous possibilities, including marriage. These are just a few of my experiences during my fourteen year hiatus from the USA, and there was plenty of material to write about before I even left. It's time I share my stories with the rest of the world. For this first book, "Driving With Karma," I'm telling my story of traveling to India to buy new teeth. You read correctly. I went to India to buy new teeth. But, this bizarre tale will take you not just to the dentist chair, but on a philosophical and spiritual journey that might start in Mumbai, but it also branches out to places like Jeddah, Cape Town, Cusco, and a car race around Europe. Enjoy the ride. I know I am. This version of Driving With Karma (Green Cover) is the second edition with text only. If you'd like an illustrated version, the first edition (White Cover) has pictures. If you'd like to see more of my pictures from my travels, feel free to find me on Facebook and Instagram.
