Social media manager Mattie Appleton has one job: drive the pieces of Santa's Village from Edmonton, Alberta to its new home at a Christmas theme park in December, Manitoba. However, when her rental truck self-destructs, she's forced to accept a lift from Dave Magnusson, her brother's best friend.

Cowboy magician Dave is already planning to drive across the prairies on his Dave the Magnificent tour. It's not a big deal to hitch Mattie's trailer to his camper van and bring her along as a passenger--as long as she doesn't mind stopping for some of his magic performances.
