An absorbing novel for girls who are experiencing the intense feelings that come with adolescence.A story of loss, grief, anger, and reconciliation. An accurate portrayal of a conflicted relationship between a mother and daughter.
I'm the person that wrote the review below this one. This is her 2 years from now though. I think the book should be more recomended for teens. It has strong romance, and a 10 year old would barf reading it. Teens will enjoy it though. Catherine's a pretty good author. I also recomend the warriors series.
Awesome book! Go Catherine for writing something good!

Even though I'm 11 years old, I still thought this is a great book. Especially if you like drama. Its about a 14 year old girl named Mattie that went to South Dak. so that her mom's boy friend and her could spend more time together. MAttie falls in love with a seventeen year old boy he met at the airport. They start to like one another more each day. Mattie is a "good girl" and Lester(boy) is a "bad boy". In the past he drank, and stole cars. REad the rest yourself. This is a great book for kids 12 and up. 10 and up if you like drama. I hope on reading more of Catherine Dexter's books. But my library only had this one.*sobs*

This book is a good book that i really got into. I thought it was a good book for teens. It made it seem like it was a true story, and that you knew this girl { Mattie } She fell in love with this seventeen year old who tought her how to drive when she was only fourteen yrs. old. she came on a vacation and was there four like two months with her mothers old friend. She was doing work in her great grandmothers old house. She did research on her grandfmother and great great grandfather from the library. She and Lester{ the seventeen yr. old boy.} whould go out and she would drive even though she was under age! LIKE I SAID THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK. YOU SHOULD REALLY READ IT.

I thought this was a great book. It had a lot of details that made it very intresting for me. This book is about A fourteen yr. old girl named Mattie she is sent off for the summer to stay with her mothers old friend Belle. On the way there she meets this boy named Lester who she see again then when she goes riding with him and he says " you wanna try " then as they get to know each other better they start to have feelings for each other, and she learns to drive better. She also is working at her great-Grandmothers old house. She is learning more about her Great Great-Grandfather who built the house. She suspects that her mother has sent her out here so she and her long time boyfiend Henry can get to have time alone. Mattie has always been a good girl in till now. Like i said this is a four star book to me and i think that it will be to you too. I heard this on of the most voted books so it was a really good book to me.
