Nolan Gunter was raised on the Main Street of Miller, Missouri. Her parents owned a general store and this is where Nolan learned the art of storytelling. A contributor to many publications for over a half century, Nolan was known for her gifted talents as a writer, artist and knowledge of local history. Nolan wrote the popular column DRIFTWOOD for The Miller Press from 1969 until her death April 1977. Book one covers the years 1969-1972. Nolan had a great love of family, friends, nature, wildlife and her hometown of Miller. She added humor, much of it about her own shortcomings and about many simple things of life which were reflected in her style of writing.
