The story reads so quickly, yet the depth of my emotions was tremendous. My heart and soul were warmed, bathed in incredible love, and healed as I experenced this story. The emotions Maria felt and her expereinces were very real to me. The change in her mother was so incredible, and her father's actions were amazing! I am eager to read Susan's next book.

A woman to admire!

This book is a fascinating journey full of colour, emotions and absorbing characters. The story provides a setting that humanises Jesus's mother, Mary, in a way most woman can relate to despite the historical context. This is the first time that Mary is portrayed as a real human of strength and determination. It seems fitting that only such a woman could give birth to Jesus Christ.I only hope book two is soon on the shelves!

This book can change your life!

A friend sent me this book last week, and I could not put it down. This is a story about the man we know as Jesus Christ and the incredible people who brought him into our world. Told in novel format, (and incredibly well written--Oy! the descriptions of the surroundings!) the book tells a coming of age story of Mary and the trials she endures on her path to becoming a woman, and eventually the mother of Jesus. Absent, however are the old ideals of Christianity that have held court for centuries teaching people to live in fear , repenting for their sins. This is instead a story about living in love, and the incredible people who brought a loving man into our history. It changed my life, and can change forever how you view women in history.
