Dreaming in the Daytime

I started taking photos on my iPhone for reference to make pictures and drawings. I started to enjoy taking them. I used Instagram, Hipstamatic, and Tilt-Shift to take the images. Individually, the images are of things I've seen as I walked around on my day, or visited places on vacation. They were taken in a space of about a year, in different places in Northern California.I've edited them down and put themes together in series. Collectively, the soft focus, heightened grain, heightened saturated color are meant to convey a dreamlike state of reverie. It's become a project in conveying emotion and composition, and evoking an emotional feeling through a visual metaphor.
