A man dreams of a past life and finds the cure to his chronic depression. The novel is about the meaning of dreams, the search for self and the meaning of life, the nature of spirit and God.
I loved reading this novel,it is a well-thought out story of redemption. I would also say that it is a story about how to take charge of our destinies. I loved how the novel unravels and lays out these lessons, simply and casually. You get caught up in the plot and then realize that this amazing gem was laid down before your eyes. For instance, the whole issue of how we carry anger with us and how it manifests itself in various aspects of our daily lives, and the difference that it makes once we master it. I can honestly say that this novel opened my eyes to this one issue, and that by itself was well worth reading it. At one point I also did a double take when I realized that I was reading about the root cause of depression, and the number of people I know who could benefit by reading this story! As a Christian I had no problem with the parts about reincarnation and karma, I think that the majority of Christians would find that it speaks to their hearts. I found that Martin's search for God was particularly poignant and the description of Jesus' teachings very interesting. I am now emailing all of my Christian friends and urging them to buy this beautiful book. ADDEMDUM, 10/11/06: With some friends of mine we formed a discussion group to talk about Dream Maker, and to my surprise one of them (out of eight) became angry because she felt it was about women-bashing!! She read the first two chapters, reacted, then closed her mind to the rest of the story, and said she didn't like it. To those like her, I say, the story touched a nerve and you will really benefit by keep on reading with an open mind. Those first chapters deal with relationship issues from a man's perspective, issues that are explored, exposed, and beautifully resolved later on. This is indeed a beautiful book. A meaningful, inspiring and touching story lovingly told.
Saved my Life

I don't know much about books so I can't pretend to sound deep like people do in my English class, but this novel helped me make sense out of life, I was depressed and reading it was a revelation. I can say that it saved my life.
A Fantastic Tale

I really enjoyed this novel, it carries the informational impact of the movie "What The (Bleep) Do We Know." Both make you ponder why we are on this earth, and how behind this reality we find the metaphysical realm.

Grigor gets to the heart of many questions asked by spiritual seekers. The answers revealed by the weaving of his story, and its characters, show to me that he knows that of which he writes. This is a fabulous story that leaves an imprint on my heart, with imagery and contemplation that comes to me while reading, and days after I finished the book. I am comforted by the tale, as it confirms things I have always believed to be true about karma and reincarnation. Dream Maker deserves much acclaim. I am looking forward to Grigor's next book!
Agape

I am very interested in reincarnation and have read just about everything I can lay my hands on about it, as long as it's a true account. This is why I picked up this book, because I heard from friends that It was a novel based on a real case. This novel turned out to be one of the best books on reincarnation that I have read, even though it's called fiction. The author does say in the introduction that he used his intuition and creativity to fill in the blanks, so I suppose the publisher had to call it fiction. This is a well-written, good novel, that just on literary terms I would put way up there among the best. The author based the story on a dream about a past life, and what he saw in the dream turned out to be true. That part is exciting and confirms that reincarnation is real. But for me what makes this novel stand out is the description of Agape. This was a mystical technique that was widely practiced at the time, and that only few people know about today. After reading the novel, I looked up Agape, and found out that Socrates mentioned it and said that it came from the last Golden Age. In yoga texts it is described as "an advanced technique," that is only available to a select number of people. I became acquainted with it through this novel, and it has had a profound impact. If nothing else, the fact that the technique is being revived through this novel, that by itself would make this an outstanding work. The fact that the author was able to describe it so well tells me that he was really there. There is a lot more to the novel. I learned a lot about history, about the Romans, how they fought, how they lived and why they collapsed. I am amazed by the fact that Christians of the time were so spiritually advanced. This is a good novel for those who want to know what Christianity was all about back then.
