An Interesting Read

I found this book to be very interesting in that it gave me a better understanding of why a woman would choose to dedicate herself to someone that is incarcerated for a long time. I came away with the knowledge that the reasons a person would enter into this type of relationship is as varied as the reasons as to why a person would enter any type of relationship. The book was shocking and very blunt. Even though it was written in Australia you realize prisons are pretty much the same everywhere, and people are pretty much the same everywhere. I wish the author would have included stories of people who had success in this type of relationship. Working with incarcerated individuals I know that there are some who are respectful, deceit, God-fearing people who have good relationships with free world spouses. But maybe she chose the more negative stories to sell books. I would recommend this book if you want to learn more on the subject of prisoners and their free world partners. But keep in mind that not every relationship of this type is depicted in these stories.
