Born and bred in a small seaside village in Northern Scotland, and now living in New York City, Peyton McClintock is headed to the serene Tahitian island of Moorea with Bryan, her self-confident, attractive and routinely cocky husband. Their romance has waned but Peyton is determined to re-vitalize the passionate connection they once had. When the couple find two sickly and seemingly abandoned dogs under their luxury beach bed, Peyton, a dog lover, quickly connects with the island's animal shelter. When the owner of the two stray dogs is found dead on the beach, things start to intensify for Peyton, putting her own life and those closest to her in grave danger.
