One of the hardest parts of learning a language is learning vocabulary, or gaining an understanding of sentences and expressions. Memorizing vocabulary on a word-by-word basis is forgettable and ineffective, as it is often learned outside of useful context. We associated words with visual input and actions. By associating words in the target language with pictures or actions, we create a direct path from the word to the object, skipping the extra step of translating into our native language.
