When he arrives in Transylvania, the locals react with terror and shock, after the lawyer discloses his destination as the Castle of Count Dracula.

The old noble count from the novel, was based on the historical figure of Vlad the Impaler, who was from Wallachia, a vast mountainous area of Eastern Europe, owned by the Ottoman Empire.

Little is known about Vlad, and his close connection with the Ottoman Empire. Here, now, Vlad's life will be examined, his relationship with the mighty empire, and the empires ruler, Fatih Sultan Mehmet II, the conqueror of Istanbul.
