Poor Condition!

I ordered a like new book for my grandchild. It arrived with a broken back and damaged to the point I cannot give it to my grandchild. Very disappointing. I wasted my money!

Disappointed but it’s the first time

Got this book for my kid with a lot of other books. Got this in pretty bad shape. Whoever had it first destroyed it with coloring on almost all pages. Has spilled food and drinks throughout the pages. Would contact customer service but can’t find a number or email to get ahold of anyone. Very disappointed that they didn’t check the book first but this was the very first time experiencing this issue

My grandchildren loved Dr Seuss' ABC

Loved the humor in the book while it also teaches children their ABC's

Not acceptable condition.

This book came with dirt, brown smuges, and some tears.

X is very useful if your name is Nixie Knox...

Dr. Seuss's ABC Beginner Book is perhaps the best way I know to introduce your child to the alphabet. There's a lot of fun for young children in this book; the illustrations are wonderful and the use of the letters in making new words for children is excellent. It truly reflects well on Dr. Seuss that he wrote such a fine book for young child just beginning to learn how to read. This book introduces young children to the alphabet by first showing them the letters of the alphabet in both upper case and lower case forms; and then (usually on the next page) the child sees a thing or a creature with a name that starts with the letter being introduced. This book also asks questions to make children think. For example, the book at one point asks "What begins with (the letter) B?" The answers in the book use as many words beginning with that letter as possible; and I think that's very good. The book also encourages young children to go ahead and learn more with a sprinkling of pats on the back like "Hooray! Hooray!" This is a very good strategy. The hardcover of the book is strong enough to resist any accidental damage your young child may want to do to it; and the quality of the paper is excellent. Overall, Dr. Seuss's ABC is a fine book that remains one of the best ways for children to learn the alphabet even all these years later after it was first written and published. I highly recommend this book for children just beginning to learn the alphabet.

Fun for Kids and Adults alike

Dr. Seuss takes his wild imagination and fun and turns it into one of the better alphabet books for kids. Every letter includes several appropriate items. They can range from the ordinary, left leg for "L", to the humorous. My family can still tell you exactly what begins with "Q", and we haven't reread this book in at least 15 years.Parents tired of the standard "A" is for apple, "B" if for ball book will find a breath of fresh air here, too. They'll be laughing at some of the sentences and enjoying the meter used throughout. This book bills itself as an "I Can Read" book. I hesitate slightly only because Dr. Seuss does throw a few of his trademark unusual characters into the mix. A parent will need to be close by to help their child sound out the harder words.Dr. Seuss was a master at making picture books fun for all ages. This is a classic example parents will enjoy reading time and time again, even if their kids ask for it every night.

Just Fine- particularly for a baby

I am not sure what all the controversy is about. This board book is changed from the original. I agree, the original one is much better in that it's longer and has more of the wild wacky words we associate with Dr. Suess books. However, that doesn't make this board book bad. IN fact, I think it is well done. The fact that the text is shortened works well in my opinion. Most babies don't really have the attention span to sit for a longer book. The fact that this book is a little bit shorter makes it easier to read to a wiggly year old baby. The pictures are cute and has the wacky characters we associate with Dr. Suess books. The text is just fine and if you hadn't read the original, you wouldn't really know there was much missing in terms of text. For a young child, board books are great and reading to a baby and young child is important. I think it is more important that you read to your child rather than worry about what has changed from the original. My son who is three loved this book and now my daughter who is 15 months is enjoying it. Enjoy.

Dr. Seuss' ABC

We are an international family, meaning that my wife is Japanese, I'm am American, and our daughter is both. We live in Japan, and hence the language our daughter hears the majority of the time is Japanese, which had me worried about her future English ability. This book as done much a lay those fears to rest. The pictures are fun, the sound or word patterns are nice to repeat, and easy to remember, which makes this a wonderful book for a 2 year old. On top of the fun aspect, she was able to recognize many of the letters after reading the book with me only a couple of times. This is a fun way to teach small children the alphabet and letter sounds, although the reader (me) did have to practice several of the pages before a smooth reading was possible, this entertained my daughter to no end!

My daughter's favorite

This is the first book I read to my daughter. It always calmed her when she cried. We read it over and over and now I have it memorized. She is 10 months old now and all I have to do is say "Big A" and she gives my a big smile.
