Star Force Dr. Scarlet Smithe was overqualified when she arrived at the Star Warrior Basic Cadet School. She was a psychiatrist, which would help her survive the mind games the school played to weed students out of the program. She had a chest full of medals, which proved her impeccable character. She had been awarded two Silver Stars, one by Star Service, and one by the Space Marines, which proved that she was a warrior. She had trained with the Second Dragoons of the Space Marines, and had become an expert with almost any weapon. A Star Warrior colonel had tutored her on what she should expect.
Unfortunately, it soon became obvious that people at the school were sabotaging her, to the point of trying to kill her, in an attempt to prevent her from graduating. She almost died while running the dreaded obstacle course. A sea serpent tried to eat her. A fire belcher tried to roast her. She was shot. The school assumed those were unfortunate incidents, but Scarlet knew better.
Dr. Scarlet Smithe not only persevered, but she was awarded two Star Service medals while at school. No basic cadet had ever been awarded one. She graduated near the top of her class, only to be tossed on a slag heap instead of being assigned to a Star Warrior Advanced Cadet School.
