warning, it might not be what you expected

This is a reprint of an old book. It is difficult to follow because of the old style of writing plus the fact that Dr. Grant does not do well at defining some things and the figures are poor. You have to hunt through the back of the book to find the figures. It is hardcover. The pages are not cut well. If you are looking for mathematical solution to the spiral handrail problem, do not expect to find it in this book. It is hands on empirical measures. It might be good for a continuing study of the problem, but I disagree that the problem is solved or that the solution is simple.
