Downy mildew caused by Sclerospora graminicola is a destructive disease affecting both vegetative and floral parts of the crop, causing huge monetary losses. It is prevalent in many parts of India and several African nations. Biochemical markers provides information of genetic and metabolic factors governing resistance. The content of this book focuses on finding out appropriate biochemical markers useful for screening downy mildew resistance in pearl millet.
