Down: Here on This Earth

By Sparrow Santo

Sparrow Santo's poetry collection, Down, contemplates our human placement, presence, and purpose upon the Earth. A former dancer, Santo meditates on earthly concepts of space, time, weight, movement, stillness, growth, and evolution through childlike and awe-filled observations of the natural world. Themes of Romanticism, Transcendentalism, and environmental theology pervade her poetic celebration of self-discovery and spiritual wonderment. Here, nature reveals itself to be a most loving teacher of divinity, offering gifts of wisdom to those who seek connection with the Earth and its Creator.
